Recent advances in technology are opening new opportunities to remotely evaluate motor features in people with Parkinson’s. In this study nQ presented our first result from the analysis of data gathered using smartphones. We presented a solution that relies on keystroke data from daily use of personal computers and converts it into a PD motor index. In this proof of concept study, nQ demonstrated that daily interaction with a computer keyboard can be employed as means to observe and potentially quantify psychomotor impairment. This initial work in sleep inertia demonstrates that clinically relevant motor function changes can be measured by timing key press/release events from a typing routine on a physical keyboard, irrespective of the language or the typed text.
