David Lee Scher, MD
Dr. David Lee Scher is a global thought leader in digital health, remote patient monitoring and mobile medical apps and writes an award-winning blog call The Digital Health Corner. Dr. Scher was a pilot adopter of remote monitoring of implantable cardiac rhythm devices in 2000 for Medtronic and led a team to integrate this data seamlessly into his EHR in 2003. He chaired a privately commissioned committee which developed standards for certification of mobile medical apps in 2012. He served as member of the Mobile Health Regulatory Coalition and Chair of the Health Information Management Systems Society’s Mobile Health Roadmap Task Force. He is founder and director of DLS Healthcare Consulting, LLC providing expertise in digital health technology development and strategy. Dr. Scher’s experience as a clinician, clinical investigator, IRB Chair, and Medicare advisory committee member, give him a unique technology life cycle perspective. Receiving his training at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, he is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
